> > well well well what an interesting few days we've had.> > has been some crazy times of late, organising everything for the EP.> > we've somehow managed to fit in 3 shows in a row as well.> > on wednesday night we played a show at oxford art factory with Telepathe from the states> > and one of our favorite sydney bands Naked On The Vague.> > we had some major technical difficulties during sound check, but managed to have> > one of the most enjoyable sets we've had in a while. we pulled off our new song 'icy cold'> > with only about 1 hour to learn it the night before, which was great.> > Fyi - we write all of our songs track by track on a computer, and THEN learn them once they're done.> > So we literally had never played it before, practiced for one hour then played it on stage.> > it worked out pretty well though.> > and then last night (thursday) we played Levity Nights at the Hollywood Hotel in Surry Hills.> > and what an event it was...> > to a packed and highly anticipated crowd, we started playing through a suprisingly decent sounding> > but pieced together PA (ie. the mixing desk was inside the kitchen of the pub, and our> > sound guy had to go through the kitchen door every time he wanted to make a change to the sound),> > but alas nobody could have imagined what happened next...amongst the great vibe, Doris the now retired (for 30 years or so?) Hollywood glamour girl> > and owner of the hotel decided to cut us off, by walking on stage in the middle of our third song> > and grabbing the mic and telling everyone to shut up and turn the music off and it was too loud, etc etc..> > and then what happened next was some sort of weird hostile riotous type standoff between the crowd and Doris,> > with the crowd chanting "let them play, let them play" and Doris screaming back at them "not in my hotel" etc etc. We then somehow sweet talked her into letting us do one more, and after 15 minutes or so of pandomnium, we managed> > to slip in 'Icy Cold' before the party was shut down for good. Too bad we always save our best songs> > for last ! oh well maybe next time.... after everything had died down, we made up with Doris and all was good.> > the end.
