introducing....

Hello people, it's Matt and Bree from WOW here…we’d like to introduce ourselves…
We are a Sydney duo that started playing music together in November last year, and found ourselves doing our first gig three weeks after that. We did some shows with international touring acts Crystal Castles from Canada and El Guincho from Spain and locals Dardanelles, Young & Restless, The ELF and Theatre Of Disco amongst others.
Speaking of international…in April we went to Vietnam to headline the Hanoi International Music Festival to over 1000 people. It was riotous: the cops shut off the power halfway through our last song and made us pack up in the dark, despite the howling protests of the music-hungry Hanoian ex-pat community. Things were a bit more sedate but no less fun when we played Sydney festivals Field Day and Essential earlier this year, too.

Apart from lugging our gear to all these gigs, we also found time to release our debut 7" Common Species in March. It received some some sweet praise from local street press and loads of international blogs and we sold copies in places like the UK and Japan.

Not to be outdone on the fashion front, we also found time to create our personal greatest achievement ... the WOW gold chain bling t-shirts… Shiny and ghetto, it’s win win !! You really should get one before they disappear forever. (Limited to 50 shirts)

Enough of what we've done, let us tell you what’s coming up.
As you probably know, we are going to be releasing an EP through our new best friends Levity very soon, with a bunch of brand new tracks we’ve been working on lately. We can’t wait for you to hear our new stuff... It could probably be described as a little more synth-heavy, disco / rave influenced stuff than what's on our 7”.

We’ve got some shows coming up (check out www.myspace.com/wowsydney for details). When you come to see us play, please keep in mind that it’s essential that you PARTY, which may or may not include things such as dancing, on-stage tequila shots, strobe lights, screaming, jumping, jugs of sangria, boogie-ing-on-down, and whatever else you consider having a good time. Do it !!
Love you.

WOW
